With car insurance Oklahoma, you are not required to get Uninsured Motorist (UM) coverage.
The Oklahoma Liability Insurance Law states that there is Compulsory Liability Insurance required in this state. All drivers and/or car owners are required by law to carry the minimum limits of liability for this state. The minimum liability limits are:
- $25,000 for injury or death of one person (Liability Bodily Injury)
- $50,000 for injury or death of two or more persons(Liability Bodily Injury
- $25,000 for property damage (Liability Property Damage)
Car insurance companies in Oklahoma are required to offer Uninsured Motorist / Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM) to policyholders but you have the option to reject or accept it.
Uninsured Motorist (UM) and Underinsured Motorist (UIM) insurance come together in Oklahoma. You can buy this coverage in an amount equal to, or less than, the minimum limits of Bodily Injury Liability coverage required in the state of Oklahoma.
